Students and Young Professionals: Pottery Production and Identification Workshop
November 9 @ 10:00 am MST
Description
Calling all students and young professionals! Join AAHS on Saturday, November 9th, for a pottery production and identification workshop with Kiowa Sage of MCA Consulting. The workshop will take place from 10AM–2PM at MCA Consulting in Tucson, AZ.
Kiowa Sage has been an archaeologist with MCA since 2021. He specializes in ceramic analysis and is a primitive technologies educator in Tucson. He has 12 years of primitive technologies training and is looking forward to sharing his knowledge during this workshop!
Lunch will be provided for all attendees, however we recommend bringing a water bottle and additional snacks that you may desire throughout the day. Attendees should wear clothes that they would not mind getting clay on or bring an apron to protect their clothing. The workshop will take place from 10AM–1PM with lunch beginning at 1PM, so make sure to stick around for lunch and getting to know the folks at MCA.
MCA Consulting is located at 504 E. Speedway Blvd. Parking is limited, so attendees should plan to park along Third Ave or use the church overflow parking across Speedway.
Workshop registration is currently limited to students and young professionals looking to develop professional skills for a career in archaeology. Registration is currently limited to 15 people. However, if you are no longer able to attend, we ask that you reach out to Emily Jonsson, VP for Membership, at AAHSmemberVP@gmail.com, so that we can offer your spot to someone on the waiting list.
A good faith effort will be made to provide reasonable accommodations requested by November 2, 2024. These requests can be submitted with registration or directly to AAHSmemberVP@gmail.com.
